the beauty of doing hard things
just wanted to share some thoughts on the unexpected beauty of doing hard things.
we live in an age that everything is easy. entertainment is one click away, food is easy and even the basic components of sexual desire are one click away as well.
an age of abundance but with lack of meaning, the absurdity of this is that the only way to enjoy more of life and find meaning when you can't, its doing absurdly hard stuff.
meaning is hidden in places that can not be given.
since i have memory of doing things, i always hated the idea of people giving me stuff. and i dislike people that try to do that to me, why would you punish me with the suffering of getting something without being worth it of it.
that's why i don't own a car and never wanted to drive or use my family car for my own personal life.
the car has to me mine, if not i can not find any enjoyment on it.
luckily i decided early on i wanted to build my own company. that allowed me to enjoy more things like: sunshine, long walks and especially the rush of building something. And more importantly very recently i recovered my love for reading that i lost in the first two years of my entrepreneurship journey, now i'm finding meaning and beauty in books i couldn't before.
classics now have a different flavor to me. doing hard things gave me the opportunity to develop branches of the skill tree that i was not expecting.
i also enjoy more silence and being able to think deeply
i was always a loner, and someone who enjoyed being alone.
but now i enjoyed way more.
so for all of that i thankful, doing hard things and suffering allowed me to be able to enjoy things i didn't before.
it really does rewire your brain.
forgot to mention that no LLM was used to review or write this post :)
